The Pharmacy Guild Queensland has secured funding to deliver drug and alcohol treatment education to pharmacy staff members across the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN region.
This Education Initiative aims to foster community connections and social inclusion whilst contributing to a reduction of stigma related to alcohol and drug dependent patients through the facilitation of alcohol and drug education sessions.
These free evening education sessions will be delivered in partnership with respected health services provider, QuIHN. Learning outcomes include:
Through community pharmacies and upskilling of pharmacy staff, this initiative will contribute to longer term sustainable outcomes in the service which community pharmacies will be able to provide to patients with identified alcohol, drug and mental health issues.
