Pharmacy services self-audit tool: immunisation site readiness. The self-audit tool is designed to assist with evaluating site compliance with the Department of Health (the department), the Victorian Pharmacy Authority (VPA), and the Australian Government guidelines. Pharmacies that provide immunisation services are encouraged to conduct the self audit at least once a year to show continued compliance.

In Victoria, intern pharmacist immunisers are authorised to administer vaccinations under the supervision of an experienced pharmacist immuniser.
The Secretary Approval: Intern Pharmacist Immuniser (Intern Approval) was gazetted via Government Gazette S 194-24 Wednesday 24 April 2024.
The Intern Approval authorises intern pharmacists that have successfully completed a recognised ‘immuniser program of study’ to possess and administer approved Schedule 4 poisons (immunisations) under the supervision of an experienced pharmacist immuniser.

The Victorian Pharmacy Guild Immunisation Course will provide pharmacists with the knowledge and skills to safely and competently provide vaccination services within community pharmacies or other appropriate settings as part of the Victorian Pharmacist-Administered Vaccination Program. This program has been recognised by the Victorian Chief Health Officer as an ‘Immuniser program of study’.
