Required Updates for Approved Immunising Pharmacists

Approved Immunising Pharmacists are required to maintain currency of their:

  • CPR Certificate (12 months expiry)
  • First Aid Certificate  (3 years expiry)
  • ASCIA Anaphylaxis Certificate (12 months expiry)
  • Annual Immunisation Update Online Module (12 months expiry)
  • Influenza Module (12 months expiry)

1) CPR Certificate has 12 months expiry.

CPR Certificate HLTAID009 needs to be current and must be renewed through a First Aid training provider.

2) First Aid Certificate has 3 years expiry.

First Aid Certificate HLTAID011 needs to be renewed through a First Aid training provider.

3) ASCIA Anaphylaxis has 12 month expiry.

The site to complete the training has changed in January 2025 and pharmacists are required to create an account on the new site to complete the training.

Pharmacists are required to complete the FULL COURSE ASCIA Anaphylaxis e-training for health professionals.

4) Annual Immunisation Update Online Module

Pharmacist immunisers are required to complete an annual immunisation update module to meet competencies as listed in the SASA.

The Immunisation update module has been developed by WA CDCD to provide all WA immunisation providers access to current immunisation education.

The module provides updated information on all aspects of immunisation and enhances immunisation knowledge.

The update comprises of 4 modules including scenarios and quizzes. It will take approximately 4 hours to complete and can be completed over multiple sessions.

How to access the module:

The annual update can be accessed via the WA Health Immunisation Education website:

  1. In order to access the online education modules, users will need to register via the link
  2. Users will need to register with their preferred email address.
  3. User will then receive an email with a link to create an account.
  4. Once registered, click on the ‘Browse Library’ option to view all the modules.

Note: All module updates are best accessed via a desktop or laptop computer. The use of iPads and mobile phones are not recommended. Access to an account is temporary. No record of any assessments or certificate are kept. It is up to the individual to save (as a PDF via the print function) or print a copy of their own certificate.

Users with existing accounts

  1. If the webpage goes straight to the ‘Sign-in’ page, the user’s account already exists. Users can then use the ‘Forgot Password’ option and recreate their log-in details. An email with the new login details will be sent straight away.
  2. If login details to access Rise Education are no longer valid, users will need to simply use the link in Step 1 to re-register.

5) Influenza Online Module

The Influenza module has been developed as an annual refresher for immunisation providers and provides the user with up-to-date influenza immunisation information.

  • This module should take approximately 2 hours and can be completed over multiple sessions.
  • You are required to complete the final assessment with a passing score of 80%.

Online Training modules, including the influenza online module, can be accessed via the WA Health Immunisation Education Website.
