World Pharmacists Day
Monday 25 September 2023 is World Pharmacists Day. The day is an annual celebration to promote the role of community pharmacists in improving health all over the world and locally in our communities.
There are around 36,000 pharmacists in Australia. This year's theme is “Pharmacy strengthening health systems.”
By celebrating World Pharmacists Day, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and World Pharmacy Council recognise the vital role community pharmacists play in caring for the health of Australians. Pharmacists have been reliable in times of crisis, always accessible, and on the frontline for Australian patients. Community pharmacists worldwide have adapted to treat the health needs of their community.
World Pharmacists Day is an opportunity to showcase to the public the vital role of community pharmacy as primary healthcare providers, the opportunity to achieve even more through full scope of practice and celebrate recent successes.
