Pharmacy of the year
Nominations have now closed for the prestigious Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s 2025 Guild Pharmacy of the Year awards.
Members of the public, as well as those in the profession, were invited to nominate their favourite pharmacy
The awards are recognised as the benchmark for excellence in the community pharmacy sector; community pharmacies who foster a culture of professional innovation, business management and community engagement. They seek to identify highly motivated and adaptable pharmacy practices which stand out for their delivery of innovative and effective health care to support their community.
The awards recognise excellence in community pharmacy across four categories:
- Excellence in Business Management
- Excellence in Professional Innovation
- Excellence in Community Engagement
- Commendation in Harm Minimisation
with an overall winner chosen from these category winners.

Characteristics that can lead to being recognised as the Guild Pharmacy of the Year include:
- Having set and achieved business goals
- Demonstrating commitment to customers’ needs
- Identifying and meeting gaps in addressing local health needs in their area
- Implementing innovative ideas, and evaluating success
- Having successfully collaborated and partnered to strengthen their health professional network
- Demonstrating strong leadership that unifies the pharmacy team
- Continually improving and growing their business
Winners will be announced at the 2025 APP Conference, held on 20-22 March 2025 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
How to nominate
The application process has been simplified making it quick and easy to nominate your favourite pharmacy. Simply apply online, answer a few questions and submit your nomination.
Your patients can also nominate you as their favourite community pharmacy.
Entries close on 30 September 12:00am.
Winning pharmacies will gain exposure in the industry and recognition from their peers.
Each category winner will win a prize of $5,000 plus travel, accommodation and registration costs (to the value of $3,000 ex GST) to attend APP 2024 and a trophy to display in their pharmacy.

2024 Winner
Capital Chemist Southlands in the ACT has been announced as the 2024 Guild Pharmacy of the Year.
They were chosen from the four category winners who this year were:
- Excellence in Business Management – Capital Chemist Southlands, Australian Capital Territory
- Excellence in Community Engagement – Emerton Amcal Pharmacy, New South Wales
- Excellence in Professional Innovation – Narrabri Pharmacy, New South Wales
- Excellence in Harm Minimisation - Emerton Amcal Pharmacy, New South Wales
