Gold Cross has endorsed Afterpay which will give Pharmacy Guild members the opportunity to soon able to offer the “buy now, pay later’ payment platform.
Gold Cross General Manager Jason Rose said the endorsement of Afterpay was significant for Guild members.
“This is an exciting development and one which will help members grow their business and benefit from the exclusive member rate,” Mr Rose said.
“Afterpay does this by charging the pharmacy a competitive rate, rather than the customer, to enable them to offer Afterpay. Afterpay pays the pharmacy immediately for the purchase.
“Customers that use Afterpay in pharmacy or online can enjoy the benefits of splitting their medicine and pharmacy purchases into four, fortnightly instalments, always interest-free, breaking down the economic barrier to healthcare.”
Mr Rose said that unlike credit cards, there was no interest and the debt could not be extended more than the four fortnightly instalments. Late fees were capped.
“Afterpay is about providing families and singles in the community with choice in how and when they pay for their pharmacy purchases, in a way that works with their overall budget,” he said.

Mr Rose said the Afterpay endorsement capped an exciting period of growth for Gold Cross.
