The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is thrilled to announce that nominations are now open for the highly esteemed 2025 Pharmacy of the Year Awards. These awards celebrate the pinnacle of excellence within the Australian community pharmacy sector.
The Guild Pharmacy of the Year Award is designed to honour pharmacies that exemplify excellence in several important areas: Excellence in Business Management, Excellence in Community Engagement, Excellence in Professional Innovation and Commendation in Harm Minimisation. These awards not only acknowledge individual achievements but also inspire others in the sector to strive for similar excellence.
National President of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Professor Trent Twomey, encourages everyone to nominate their favourite community pharmacy so they are in the running for the award.
“This award is not only a testament to the hard work and dedication of community pharmacy but also a valuable opportunity to share best practices and inspire continuous improvement across the industry. We encourage members of the public and all eligible pharmacies to submit their nominations and join us in celebrating the remarkable achievements in community pharmacy,” Professor Twomey said.
At the heart of the Pharmacy of the Year Awards is recognition of community pharmacies that:
- excel in operational efficiency, strategic planning, and financial management.
- demonstrate a strong business model that drives sustained growth and maximises profitability that ensures a high standard of service delivery.
- show exemplary leadership, effective use of resources, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- go above and beyond in fostering meaningful connections with their local communities.
- exhibit outstanding efforts in building relationships, addressing community needs, and contributing to local wellbeing.
- showcase their initiatives in health education, outreach programs, and community support, demonstrating a genuine commitment to enhancing the lives of those they serve.
- implement groundbreaking practices and technologies to enhance healthcare delivery.
- demonstrate creativity and foresight in adopting new methods, technologies, or services that improve patient outcomes.
- implement effective harm reduction initiatives and support community health through targeted interventions and services.
- demonstrate their dedication to harm minimisation through innovative programs, community education, and collaboration with other health services.
The category winners and overall winner of the Guild Pharmacy of the Year awards will be announced at the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference, to be held on 20 - 22 March 2025 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
Members of the public, as well as those in the profession, are invited to nominate their favourite pharmacy. Nominations close on 30 September 2024 and further details are available at Pharmacy of the Year.
