Final days to enter the 2025 video competitions!

14 February 2025

The countdown is on! If you’ve been thinking about entering the Rural Pharmacy Video Competition or the Cultural Engagement Video Competition, now’s the time to act, as both competitions are closing on Sunday, 16 February at 11:59pm AEDT!

By participating in the video competitions, you’ll have the chance to win incredible prizes while showcasing the heart and soul of your community pharmacy. Whether you're in a regional, rural, or remote area, or serving a culturally diverse community, your story deserves to be heard. And with the deadline quickly approaching, now is the time to finalise your entries!

I Love Rural Pharmacy Video Competition

The I Love Rural Pharmacy Video Competition is all about showcasing how pharmacies in MMM 2-7 areas stand strong through their most important asset—people. This year’s theme, “Rural Pharmacy: Our People, Our Strength,” invites you to share your innovative strategies for attracting, recruiting, and retaining pharmacy staff.

Pharmacies in rural areas often face unique challenges. But despite these challenges, they continue to thrive by finding creative ways to support their staff and better serve their communities. Whether it’s through training programs, community involvement, or simply creating a welcoming, inclusive work environment, your pharmacy has a story to tell.

Your 1-2 minute video could highlight:

  • How your pharmacy creates a positive, supportive culture for your staff.
  • The strategies that have helped you overcome recruitment challenges.
  • The rewards and challenges of working in a rural pharmacy.

Your pharmacy’s story can inspire others facing similar challenges, while giving your team a well-deserved spotlight. And don’t forget the $4,500 prize package, sponsored by Ravens Recruitment, to help you implement full-scope services in your pharmacy, and the APP2026 People’s Choice prize, which includes free full registration (and access to the Street Party!).

The Cultural Engagement Video Competition

The Cultural Engagement Video Competition offers an incredible opportunity for ALL community pharmacies to highlight how you connect with and support your diverse local communities. This competition is about showing how your pharmacy goes above and beyond to ensure everyone feels safe, valued, and heard, regardless of cultural background.

Incorporating the theme, “Community Pharmacy, Creating Cultural Connections,” we want to see how your pharmacy fosters inclusivity, especially when it comes to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as other cultural groups. Your 1-2 minute video should capture the essence of your pharmacy’s approach to cultural engagement.

Cultural safety and inclusivity in healthcare are important components in improving health outcomes for all communities. By sharing your pharmacy’s practices, you’re helping to raise awareness and encouraging others to follow suit.

What can you include in your video?

  • Stories about how your pharmacy embraces and celebrates cultural diversity.
  • The programs or initiatives that make your pharmacy a culturally safe space.
  • How your team participates in cultural events and supports the needs of diverse populations.

This competition gives your pharmacy an opportunity to highlight the important role you play in promoting community health and wellness. The Best Video will be judged by a panel before APP2025, and you could be recognised for your efforts in building a more inclusive healthcare environment and win a free Full Registration (and access to the Street Party!) to APP2026.

Remember, entries close by 11:59pm AEDT, Sunday, 16 February 2025.

Both competitions are FREE to enter, but time is running out! If you’ve been planning to submit a video, now is the time to finalise your idea, get filming, and show us what makes your pharmacy unique.

Whether it's the innovative ways you're attracting staff in rural areas or the meaningful connections you're making with a culturally diverse community, your story matters.
