Hosted by television presenter Miranda Deakin, APP TV offers behind-the-scenes insight and in-depth conversations with award winners, industry leaders and healthcare advocates—all filmed live from the conference floor.
Available live during the conference and on demand, a few standout segments are featured below.
The 2025 Guild Pharmacy of the Year, Complete Care Pharmacy in Rosny Park, Tasmania. In the interview, co-owner Kristina Fox shares:
“We’re super proud of our patients for adopting this new model. We’re really excited that we have innovated and created this new model, and hopefully other pharmacies across Australia will see what we’re doing and want to change the way that they’re practicing.”
Shadow Health Minister Senator Anne Ruston also joined Australasian Pharmacy TV to discuss the Coalition’s support for PBS co-payment reductions and the importance of accessible pharmacy services:
“We really do need to be focusing on that primary care aspect that is delivered by the shopfront that is pharmacy… just about all of our pharmacies are open on the weekend, which is something that many other primary care outlets aren't, and it gives us an opportunity to focus on keeping Australians healthy.”
She also highlighted the role of pharmacy point-of-care testing in reducing downstream costs to the health system.

John Smithson, Academy Head of Pharmacy at James Cook University and Program Co-ordinator for Queensland’s Full Scope Program, shared insights into the evolving pharmacy workforce:
“We’re really proud of the role that we’re playing in the industry to raise the education for pharmacists to be able to work to their full scope,” he said.
“The real winners out of this are the patients, the public, the communities that pharmacy has been serving for decades now and will be able to serve in a greater and deeper capacity.”
World Pharmacy Council President Doug Hoey reflected on lessons from overseas markets in his APP presentation and interview. He discussed the risks associated with the commoditisation of pharmacy products in countries like the United States, and what Australia can learn to avoid similar pitfalls. His message reinforced the need to focus on professional services and the trusted relationship between pharmacists and patients as the foundation of sustainable, quality care.
