APP2025 brought together pharmacy professionals, industry leaders, suppliers, and government representatives for four days of learning, innovation, and celebration.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia extends its sincere thanks to everyone who made the event possible, including our sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and the wider pharmacy community.
The event marked several major milestones, including the first-ever attendance by a sitting Prime Minister. During the Opening Plenary, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that PBS co-payments will be capped at $25 from 1 January 2026 — a win for both patients and pharmacies.
The announcement means that from 1 January 2026, the maximum PBS co-payment for general patients will fall from $31.60 to $25, helping more than 400,000 Australians every week to better afford the medicines they need. The change will save patients up to $6.60 per script and put $689 million back in their pockets over four years.

Queensland Minister for Health, the Hon Tim Nicholls MP, also made a landmark announcement on Friday morning, confirming that services for 16 acute, every day health conditions currently available through the Queensland Community Pharmacy Scope of Practice Pilot, will become permanent in Queensland from 1 July 2025.
Other highlights included the buzzing Trade Exhibition — the largest in the Southern Hemisphere — featuring over 250 suppliers and 450+ stands, and the Australasian Pharmacy TV stand, which brought out the stories behind key layers at the forefront of pharmacy industry.
As the Guild celebrates another successful APP, planning is already underway for APP2026, taking place 12–14 March 2026. We can’t wait to welcome you back!
