APP2025 welcomes Senator the Hon Anne Ruston back to the conference stage

27 February 2025

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is delighted to welcome back Senator the Hon Anne Ruston, Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care and Shadow Minister for Sport, to the APP2025 stage. The Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition (APP) is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest pharmacy event, taking place on the Gold Coast from 20-22 March 2025.

As a strong advocate for community pharmacy, Senator Ruston understands the critical role pharmacies play in the health care system, particularly in regional Australia. As the only South Australian Senator maintaining a regional electorate office, she has firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing pharmacies outside metropolitan areas.

Senator Ruston will address delegates during the Opening Plenary on Thursday morning, 20 March 2025, sharing insights into the evolving health care landscape and the future of community pharmacy in Australia.

APP2025 Conference Chairman, Kos Sclavos AM, expressed his enthusiasm for Senator Ruston’s return to the APP stage.

"We are pleased to welcome Senator Ruston back to APP in 2025. She has been a long-time supporter of community pharmacy, and her insights into health policy and the role of pharmacies in delivering frontline healthcare will be invaluable to attendees," Mr Sclavos said.

APP2025 is expected to be the biggest conference yet, with more than 7,000 delegates attending and the largest-ever cohort of pharmacy students set to participate. The event will feature more than 100 expert speakers, a packed education program, an extensive trade exhibition with 450+ trade stands, and countless networking opportunities.

With just weeks to go, attendees are encouraged to register now to secure their place for the conference and for the ever-popular social events, like the Welcome Reception and ‘Country Hoedown’ themed Street Party.

APP2025 is supported by Tourism and Events Queensland, and Experience Gold Coast.
